Geneticists were scientists who specialized in genetics, the branch of biology concerned with the study of heredity and variation in life forms. They notably researched genetic relationships between species, establishing which species was an offshoot or ancestor of another. For example, geneticists argued for millennia about the exact relationship between the Ithorians and the Ottegans.[1] The alien Pili Walde was a botanist and plant geneticist.[2]
