- "I brought you a cup of Gatalentan tea."
- ―Rey, to Leia Organa
Gatalentan tea was a type of tea from the tranquil planet Gatalenta, which was known for its tea. Potable by humans, it was a personal favorite of New Republic Senator Leia Organa, who kept a supply on her personal starship, the Mirrorbright.[1] In 28 ABY,[3] Organa prepared herself some Gatalentan tea onboard the Mirrorbright en route to the planet Bastatha. Following their mission there, Organa's companion and fellow senator Ransolm Casterfo also sipped a cup of Gatalentan tea.[1]
The smuggler Han Solo, Organa's husband, also liked the tea enough to keep a stash aboard the Millennium Falcon, his starship.[2] In 34 ABY,[4] the Jedi apprentice Rey brought Organa a cup of Gatalentan tea while onboard the Falcon. Organa, who had just been thinking about drinking tea, happily accepted and joked that Rey had read her mind. As she blew on the hot beverage, Organa commented that she was surprised that Chewbacca, Solo's co-pilot, kept the tea aboard before realizing that it had been Solo.[2]
Behind the scenes
Gatalentan tea first appeared in the 2016 novel Bloodline, written by Claudia Gray.[1]
