Gatalentan meditation candles were a type of candle[1] that originated from the Gatalenta system[1][2] in the Core Worlds.[3] In 40 BBY,[4] members of the Opposition performance troupe kept some of the candles in an alcove within their hideout on the moon of the Inner Rim planet Pijal.[1] That year,[4] Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn visited the hideout and noticed the Gatalentan meditation candles, musing that someone must have been using them to try to find peace.[1]
Behind the scenes
Gatalentan meditation candles appeared in Master & Apprentice, a 2019 novel written by Claudia Gray.[1]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Gatalentan meditation candle in relation to Gatalenta system.
