Garda was a young male individual who lived on Dalna[1] in 382 BBY.[2] His mother Yvanna struggled to make ends meet after her husband died in a farming accident. He was the first customer at the Path of the Open Hand's soup kitchen in Ferdan, where he ate legumes. Afterward, he fell mysteriously ill, and was examined by Doc Nindle. Based on the fact that Yvanna had not eaten the legumes and was not ill, Doc Nindle determined the food was likely the cause for Garda's illness. His symptoms were similar to Doc Nindle's later patient Ric Farazi, but much less severe than Farazi's fatal case.[1]
