The Freedom's Run was an MC80 Star Cruiser of the Alliance to Restore the Republic that served in the Galactic Civil War. Although other Star Cruisers such as Home One, Nautilian, Liberty, and Amalthea were confirmed for the assault on Endor in 4 ABY, the Freedom's Run's status was tentative, as was the cruiser Restoration's. Admiral Gial Ackbar listed the Alliance Navy starships and their condition in a report to Commander-in-Chief Mon Mothma, and was included in The Rebel Files.

The Freedom's Run was an MC80 Star Cruiser of the Alliance to Restore the Republic that was active during the Galactic Civil War against the Galactic Empire[2] and manufactured by Mon Calamari Shipyards.[1] Shortly prior to the Battle of Endor, a moon in the Outer Rim's Moddell sector,[2] in 4 ABY,[3] Alliance Admiral Gial Ackbar sent a report to Commander-in-Chief Mon Mothma in regards to fleet composition and strength. Ackbar had drawn in critical fleet elements in preparation for the Rebel Alliance Navy's assemblage above the[2] Outer Rim planet[4] Sullust for the Endor assault.[2]

Admiral Ackbar confirmed that the Star Cruisers available for the attack were Home One, Nautilian, Liberty, and Amalthea pending its hyperdrive repair. Freedom's Run's status was listed as tentative, along with the cruiser Restoration. Ackbar's report was incorporated into The Rebel Files, a physical data archive that contained a non-electronic copy of sensitive information. The physical archive was buried on the Mid Rim world of Durkteel during an Imperial bombardment. The depository was excavated[2] in 34 ABY[5] and soon reached General Leia Organa of the Resistance, a private military with roots to the Rebel Alliance.[2]

Given that the former also states that The Rebel Files was rediscovered thirty years after the battle, the artifact must have been found in 34 ABY.
