The Amalthea was an MC80 Star Cruiser of the New Republic Navy that was active during the Galactic Civil War. Its most notable participation was during the battle for the Kuat Drive Yards where it acted as the carrier for Blade Squadron.[2]
During the lead up to the Battle of Endor, the warship was included in a list of vessels confirmed for service, pending the ship's hyperdrive repair.[6]
