Unidentified R5 astromech (Jedi Temple) (history - links - logs - delete - protect)

In the episode, R2-D2 goes to Coruscant to warn the Jedi about Skywalker and Windu being trapped under some rubble. As R2 bolts through the temple, he bumps into R4-M1 and this droid, who both share glances at each other. This droid never appears again and contributes nothing more to the episode. And on a side note, I still think this droid is R5-S9.Chipchip88 (talk) 16:53, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

  1. I'm not sure why JMAS struck their vote, but we regularly accept a blue and white astromech matching R2's markings as an R2 cameo, and similarly with a gold-plated astromech. Even with the argument if they're voiced by the same person, we know voice actors take multiple roles and multiple characters. I don't see why we would change our logic here ℳÅℕ☉❂Ⅎ he/him/his 03:58, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

I concur with the nominator and posit that this is the same droid as R5-S9. They are identical in appearance. Chronologically, "R2 Come Home" takes place before R5-S9 appeared and was subsequently blasted in "Hostage Crisis," so that doesn't preclude them from being the same droid. There is no reason to assume R5-S9 was exclusively stationed to work at the Senate building and couldn't have been assigned to some sort of maintenance duty at the Jedi Temple prior to the events of the Senate Hostage Crisis.
