This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion of the article below. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page or, if the page was deleted, in the Senate Hall rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was no consensus for Unidentified head-bumping stormtrooper, move Unidentified Rebel traffic controller, delete the others. 1358 (Talk) 23:32, February 1, 2016 (UTC)
I believe this should be the last round for A New Hope. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:18, January 11, 2016 (UTC)

Unidentified head-bumping stormtrooper (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)
This is one of the more sillier articles on Wookieepedia that has only stuck around because of the BTS. To summarize, a stormtrooper bumps his head on a raised door in A New Hope, and George Lucas paid homage to this gaffe by having Jango Fett do the same thing in Attack of the Clones, humorously suggesting that it's a genetic trait shared by his clones. The information is notable, but this character is not. This article should be deleted, and all relevant information should be merged into the ANH and AOTC articles. - It would be helpful for you to explain your reasoning for voting to keep this article. I believe I've presented a well-reasoned argument for why the in-universe portions of this article are lacking any shred of notability, while the BTS still deserves to be salvaged and presented in more appropriate places. Apparently, you disagree. Why? Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:35, January 11, 2016 (UTC)
- While I agree that the character himself is non-notable, the existence of this page makes it easier to find the information than separating it between two articles. If there was a way to redirect this page to one or the other, I would have agreed in favor of its deletion, but as it stands, we may be better off just keeping it. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 21:41, January 11, 2016 (UTC)

- Agree with AV. It is notable per its BTS as a part of the greater fandom. Sending it to the larger film articles will clutter those articles and duplicate the information unnecessarily. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:46, January 11, 2016 (UTC)
- I'm going to attempt to respond to both of your comments in a single post. Considering that this article's BTS paragraph should be included in no less than seven different articles (A New Hope, Attack of the Clones, Jango Fett, Cloning, Laurie Goode, Stormtrooper, and George Lucas, not to mention any /Legends equivalents), this article's existence doesn't really make its information any more easily discoverable given how widely this information should properly be distributed across the wiki. Certainly, the inclusion of the phrase "head-bumping" in all of these articles will turn up in a wiki search. And it certainly doesn't justify allowing an entire article of otherwise completely un-notable in-universe information to exist. And you're wrong, Riff, that this information will "clutter" other articles; this information will by necessity be included in these other pages for the purposes of comprehensiveness, whether or not this unidentified article exists. That's how Wookieepedia works. So duplication is going to happen regardless. It's just a matter of whether we end up duplicating this information unnecessarily in an un-notable in-universe stormtrooper article. The only practical course here is to delete this page and allow its BTS information to exist in more appropriate articles. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:05, January 11, 2016 (UTC)
- The only way this article would have been notable is if he was the one trooper who stayed behind and was tricked by C-3PO, as the article once said in the past. That one had lines. Otherwise, no reason to keep the article, regardless of its place in fandom. There was once an animated TCW Rodian with a gray jacket who was also deleted despite his fan popularity. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 22:19, January 11, 2016 (UTC)
- In that case, what if FN-2199 never received a designation? Would his single word and massive fan reaction still warrant a page for an otherwise nameless, generic enemy (Although yes, it could be argued that he is still somewhat notable for having a scene dedicated to his fight, but regardless). --Clonehunter(Report your W.M.D.) 19:31, January 26, 2016 (UTC)
- That's a totally different case than this head-bumping stormtrooper because FN-2199 has dialogue, which is one of our unofficial criteria for article notability. So he would typically be granted an article based simply on that even if he didn't have a stormtrooper designation. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:41, January 26, 2016 (UTC)

- I agree with the above. A character that receives homage in a later Star Wars film seems significant enough to me. Ayrehead02 (talk) 18:07, January 13, 2016 (UTC)

Unidentified Rebel traffic controller (history - links - logs - delete - protect)
This character is never directly referenced on the CCG card. Instead, all relevant information should be moved into a new Traffic controller article, per the card text. Rather than just doing the move myself, I thought I would put this to a vote anyway to establish consensus for the removal of this character as an article.
