Theater shield (history - links - logs - delete - protect)

The term "theater shield" is not used in any of the sources listed in this article, in this article's "What links here" list, or any other source I am aware of. It intends to refer to the type of umbrella-shaped deflector shield used to protect localized sites like Echo Base. The term "umbrella shield" is used in the comic Legacy 47 and the novella Crisis of Faith to refer to this same type of localized shield, but we have that term correctly redirecting to the Planetary shield/Legends article.

We know this is correct because "A World to Conquer" from Star Wars Adventure Journal 2 defines this for us: "Many planetary shields do not cover the entire surface — they protect only important locations such as major cities or Rebel bases," while explicitly using Echo Base as one such example of this type of shield. So the term "umbrella shield" is simply a colloquialism for one application of the more formal "planetary shield" and doesn't need to be its own article. If the term "theater shield" ever surfaces in source material, it too can be recreated and turned into a redirect, but for now, it should be deleted as apparent fanon.
