- Square meter (history - links - logs - delete - protect)
I do not see any compelling reason for these to have separate articles from Imperial standard meter and kilometer. Any information from these two articles can easily be covered in the articles for their one-dimensional counterparts.--Exiled Jedi (Greetings) 02:08, June 19, 2014 (UTC)
Merge and redirect square meter to Imperial standard meter and square kilometer to kilometer

- Okay, here we go. As I pointed out to EJ on IRC, a square unit measures surface area, not length. And, they are listed as separate SI units of measurement (yeah, I know the last one might not apply, but if they recognise a difference, then I feel that should be noted). So, really, redirecting a measurement of surface area, to a measurement of length seems not quite right and counterproductive. While a case could possibly be made for square centimeter, square meter is a separate and recognised SI unit. - Sir Cavalier of One

- Per Cav. This is just how metric works. You wouldn't redirect acre (45,360 feet squared) to feet either. 1358 (Talk) 21:42, June 19, 2014 (UTC)
- After thinking about it for awhile, I am convinced by Cav's argument.--Exiled Jedi

Discussion
It's both fine and reasonable if you all choose to delete those, but if you wanted to follow your logic to the end, you'd have to merge centimeter, millimeter and kilometer into the Imperial standard meter article. --Lelal Mekha (Audience Room) 09:36, June 19, 2014 (UTC)
