Sith dueling boots (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)
I'm amazed someone put so much effort into this but I'm afraid these boots are just randomly-generated items without any significance. It's armor and nothing more. It's never mentioned in-game and it's just there like the other tens of thousands of items. Game mechanics 101.

- Every single item in the game have a name, (e.g. "Vette's Boots," "Vette's Armored Boots," "Battle-Scarred Targeter's Boots MK-2") so would that mean all of them may have an article of their own? I get that everything with a title gets an article, but "Sith dueling boots" and "Vette's Boots" are just a descriptions of items that are otherwise not notable. - I examined the item and I also don't believe that the boots are notable, other than the generic name meant to be mechanics. The rewards are meant to be a mechanic for the players to progress and level up their character. I played through said mission and I looked up the crafting schematics. The mission itself provides different rewards depending the class of the player and can be worn by any class if crafted. This is something that I'm sure it has been argued before and if not it should. There could be 1,000+ articles about gear pieces. The boots are not notable, one of many rewards that can be gained in-game. If this is kept, does that mean that we need to create an article for the gloves, pants, chest piece and bracers? Would it be better to list the entire set instead of each part?--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 03:28, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

Keep
- Contrary to what Winterz says, the article's BTS indicates this item is, in fact, not random-generated. And it's mentioned "in-game" since the title is not conjectural. Aaand it doesn't matter how many named subjects are out there in Star Wars sources. :P Imperators II(Talk) 14:36, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

- I exposed my thoughts on this on Discord, but for the record: I do believe we should get rid of this kind of articles (gameplay-only related objects, with no narrative interest: no description/interaction/mention), but it's an issue for a CT (under notability), not a lone TC. Several dozen (if not hundred) of articles, thousand of potential articles, from old, present and future games, are concerned. --NanoLuukeCloning facility 15:46, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Comments
- In regards to Bts information, the boots are available in the quest rewards but also in any random loot and in the market. They're not exclusive to the quest. And you can see from the article that almost anything written in it is based off its visual appearance. It really has no grounds to stand as it's own thing. This subject surviving its demise will open a new realm of possibilities for every other item in the game.... :P
Winterz (talk) 14:49, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- To add to my argument above, I believe these in-game items fall under game mechanics. Every item in the game must have a name because otherwise players won't know what they are. For example: Marka Ragnos's Lower Robes. That's a title, but the item itself is not notable otherwise. And why dismiss that title? Because it's a game mechanic. OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 14:56, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- It is randomly-generated. This is a video game with 20,000 quests and 50,000 possible quest awards. The Sith dueling boots is basic game mechanics. As is Jedi heavy boots, or Jedi light armor or any of the other 200,000 items in the game.
Winterz (talk) 21:37, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
- Even if it's not randomly-generated, it's just the case of getting a pair of boots called "Sith dueling boots" after completing a quest. Other than that name, the subject has zero notability. And, as I addressed in my comments above, that name is just a description of the subject and should not be treated as an actual name. If a subject's notable enough for an article, sure, it should use that description as a non-conjectural title, but if everything else is not notable, then an article should not be created solely on the basis of having an IU description.
