President of the United States (history - links - logs - delete - protect)
This article was created because of the petition on WhiteHouse.gov to create a Death Star in 2013, which reached the response threshold in which the Obama administration was compelled to reply. They came back with an amusing response. This article uses a SW.com blog as the source, where SW.com replied to the administration's statement with a clearly satirical response. There is no reason why we need a page about the President of the United States on Wookieepedia, one that says it's non-canon in Legends, especially when the source is a blog that was obvious editorial satire and not an actual story. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:41, December 2, 2017 (UTC)

- I see no reason why this page should exist. Nobody is going to want to read it. Nobody needs this page. MasterFred

- I'd beg to differ. While it is satirical, it's still ultimately official material posted on the Star Wars site (even if non-Canon), and unlike the Family Guy and Robot Chicken specials, this was first party. And besides, considering that they literally changed Obi-Wan Kenobi's home planet just because George Lucas made a statement to that effect on the Jon Stewart Show despite that statement clearly intended to be a joke, I see zero reason why satire, especially something directly made by Lucasfilm, should be deleted. Family Guy and Robot Chicken, I can understand, since Lucasfilm merely licensed the materials rather than actually making it, but not this one. But, if it is to be outvoted, all I ask is that they at least merge it with Death Star/Legends, since it's not really something that should just be deleted outright, maybe also do a hard-redirect to Star Wars Fanpedia. - Merge to Death Star/Legends? Adamwankenobi (talk) 22:11, December 2, 2017 (UTC)
- It'd be better to have something in the behind the scenes of Death Star talking about the White House petition. I used the canon page link on purpose because this whole thing is an OOU pop culture thing, so it should be on the main canon Death Star page. The Legends page could have it too. But there's no reason to have President of the United States be a redirect—literally no one is going to come to Wookieepedia and look for that—or to treat this like an in-universe thing. It's just a jokey blog from the SW.com team, not an actual Star Wars story. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:17, December 3, 2017 (UTC)
- Yep, I was thinking of the behind the scenes section. Adamwankenobi (talk) 13:30, December 3, 2017 (UTC)
- Question, wouldn't that technically make Stewjon applicable for deletion as well? After all, the only reason that even existed was because of a joke Lucas told on the Jon Stewart show, which means that, technically, it cannot be allowed on here for the exact same reason why President of the United States article shouldn't. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 20:41, December 3, 2017 (UTC)
- Stewjon has been mentioned in other sources --Lewisr (talk) 20:46, December 3, 2017 (UTC)
- As Lewisr said Stewjon became official in both Canon and Legends. Same could be said with Motti's name being Conan. Problem with this case is that is not mentioned anywhere else, and the only source is an editorial article. This could go in the Death Star BTS section.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 20:53, December 3, 2017 (UTC)
