Luke Skywalker's T-65 X-wing starfighter (talk - history - links - logs)
Luke Skywalker didn't fly just one X-wing. As was pointed out in Starship Battles Preview 2 (link to an archive of the original article here), Luke lost no less than four X-wings during his time with the Rebellion. The only fighter that he was able to stick with for any length of time, AA-589, was acquired fairly late in his Rebel/New Republic career. jSarek 23:33, December 13, 2010 (UTC)
Keep
- This article should be changed in accorrdance with the fact that Luke Skywalker used different X-wing starfighters during his lifetime. It should also say what happened to these various x-wings. (A good place to look for facts would be the article Starship Battles Preview 2 that was originally posted on the Wizards of the Coast website. The original article should be used if available, not the Wookieepedia article which does not have these facts. All this being said this article should still be improved a great deal.--Exiledjedi 15:48, December 16, 2010 (UTC)
- And possibly Rename as List of Luke Skywalker's T-65 X-Wing starfighters or something less provocatively list-y but with the same meaning. Per Exiled. DD97Which bear is best? 21:19, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

- Redirects may be cheap, but this one's pointless. I strongly doubt anyone is going to type "Luke Skywalker's T-65 X-wing starfighter" into the search box. Master Jonathan

Redirect to AA-589
- This was the only fighter that was *his* in any real sense, either in terms of ownership or longevity of use. jSarek 23:33, December 13, 2010 (UTC)
- Eh, I find it more likely that someone will type "Luke Skywalker's T-65 X-wing starfighter" than "AA-589" into the search box. Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 05:14, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

Comments
- The A New Hope novelization establishes that the Alliance gives Luke the X-wing he flies in the Death Star Trench Run as a reward for rescuing the Princess. It's not necessarily the same one has has in the other two movies, but that might be enough for the article to kept (and cleaned up). Thoughts? Menkooroo 00:22, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
- Aaaaaand then I clicked the link you posted and read this: "The first was lost the day after the Battle of Yavin when Luke encountered a stray TIE fighter that had survived the battle." Never mind. :P Menkooroo 00:23, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
