Ghyslain Raza (talk - history - links - logs)
Back in July, we had a thread on the status of the Ghyslain Raza article when an anonymous contributor wanted us to remove his name from our website. While community sentiment was against this, a consensus was building towards moving the article to Star Wars Kid before the thread was deleted as being off-topic. When I recently tried to move this article based on that early proto-consensus, it was reverted and I was told "Six people does not constitute consensus per Wookieepedia:Consensus. Do it right or don't do it at all." So be it.

Move to Star Wars Kid
- Our article should be about the Star Wars related internet phenomenon, not about the insufficiently notable primary contributor to it. jSarek 23:45, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
I also support removing all references to his real name; from what our article says, he's suffered enough stress and harassment already. No need to keep his real name here. Users can google it and find it there, if they are that determined to find his name.Chack Jadson (Talk) 23:50, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Deleting outright would be better, but it actually does meet our stupidly lax notability policy. Once again, this is something that would be better served by an entirely separate wiki. I'm content with it being moved for the time being, it just needed to be done right. That is, not on the say-so of some idiot from Wikipedia who wants to stroll in and impose their rules on us with absolutely no contributions to his name. That's the very definition of trolling. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 23:52, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Move to Star Wars Kid and remove all references to Raza's name
Chack Jadson (Talk) 00:08, 24 August 2009 (UTC)Per Chack's comments above. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 01:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- I don't see the point in moving the article to yet another Star Wars wiki that nobody knows. Wookieepedia is the SW wiki and should not only cover in-universe stuff and books/comics/games, but also other things related to the SW phenomenon - like this (short-lived, but fairly popular back then) internet meme. --Craven 03:24, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

- I spit in the face of our stupidly lax notability policy! (And I also note this is another example of how we would be well served by a Star Wars Fan Project Wiki, a la the Merchandise Wiki.) Toprawa and Ralltiir 00:08, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

- I'm assuming that our notability requirements were, like a lot of our early policies, sorta just pulled from thin air - I think we should use our judgement on individual things and establish a precedent, from which a suitable, refined policy can emerge. So per Tope. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 14:09, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

- Well then. If we're turning this into a protest against the notability policy in general, then I'm on the bandwagon. Send this to the SW Fans wiki and let them worry about what to do with the kid's name. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 21:50, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

- Just to clairfy: would we then remove all references to his real name, if we did move the article? Chack Jadson (Talk) 23:58, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- The original move vote does not include removing his name from the article; I just added a new voting section which you may want to move your vote to. jSarek 00:07, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

In response to Toprawa's vote, I've actually be setting a wiki like that up. You can find it here. The set up is moving very slowly, though, due to other commitments at the moment. :( - Brandon Rhea (talk) 00:16, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- In that case, my vote would be to copy the article over to the Star Wars Fans Wiki ASAP. - Esjs(Talk) 13:50, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
So, if the majority of established users don't like the policy, we change the policy? MauserComlink 23:54, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
