This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion of the article below. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page or, if the page was deleted, in the Senate Hall rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. First Ministers
- First Minister (Ando) (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)
- First Minister (Commenor) (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)
- First Minister (Coruscant Ministry of Ingress)/Legends (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)
These First Minister titles for various worlds and organisations would be best documented on a single First Minister article of the Legends continuity (the page is currently a disambiguation page), rather than be separated into their own articles as they are now. They all originate from articles posted on the official HoloNet News website, and are only mentioned alongside the title holder characters so there is no information to distinguish the various First Minister posts, other than the fact that the same title is shared between multiple individuals representing their own worlds and organisations—it would be a bit of a bother for readers on the current First Minister disambig page to click on the three articles just to gather Legends info on this title. Plus, the new canon already has the first minister page as the article for the title in that continuity, so once these Legends pages are merged the counterparts can simply use the continuity tabs system. I also suggest that we keep these pages as redirects to preserve the existing edit histories.

- Vergence and Manoof both make good points, but the thing here is within the documented scope of SW there's not enough to differentiate the various identically-named ministerial positions, while IRL we have specific constant details about the differences between POTUS (🇺🇸 o7) and the general concept of a president. Keep
- Just because the title is the same doesn't mean that they're the same position. I think we should follow Wikipedia's example in this. For example, they have an article for President of the United States, which is distinct from the general "president" article. VergenceScatter (talk) 18:10, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- Same name of different positions. Queen (England) =/= queen (Denmark) Manoof (he/him/his)

- On the fence, but I at least disagree with merging positions from planetary governments and an immigration customs service, even if they share the same name. SorcererSupreme21 (talk) 23:53, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

Comments
- Re: Keep comments, I do think that my point about there being no information to distinguish the various First Minister posts still stands. Wikipedia has a lot more to document than a few mentions on HoloNet News, so I don't think Wook readers are going to benefit from split stub-length articles (
which btw are also bad for SEO), but of course I get that some editors still go by the argument of different positions = different subjects = different articles. Ultimately, it's up to what y'all think about these points. OOM 224 (he/him) 19:58, 15 February 2023 (UTC)- Does SEO really matter for us? VergenceScatter (talk) 21:50, 15 February 2023 (UTC)

- I'd support having a full page for First Minister instead of just a disambig, but not if it means getting rid of the other pages. I like having information available in multiple pages. VergenceScatter (talk) 21:55, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
