Parent, Father, and Mother

There's no unique significance in Star Wars to constitute the existance of these articles. They are the equivalent of torso, knuckles, and fingernails. And unlike breasts, which is validated by the existance of Yarna d'al' Gargan, parent, father, and mother contain no information that is any different from real-world explanations. 1. I was on the fence on this one but I'm not seeing a good reason to kill these. Maybe merge them into a proper article on reproduction, which we still need, but they shouldn't be deleted. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 23:41, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
  2. There's enough unique information to keep them; it's just not in there currently. Look, for example, at the Issori. Havac 04:18, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
    • What do the Issori have to do with Mothers, fathers, and parents? It's the same concept. The only difference there is in the mating process. Darth Trayus Sith Emblem (Trayus Academy) 00:18, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
      • And the lack of a relationship part part but that happens on Earth too. Darth Trayus Sith Emblem (Trayus Academy) 00:22, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
  3. Keep or merge into article on reproduction per Culator. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:22, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
  4. Keep Parent, and merge Father and Mother into it. jSarek 15:45, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

  6. Per jSarek. If you really believe there's no unique info on this topic in the Star Wars universe, you haven't looked at the article very closely, and as Havac says, there's a lot more that could be added to it. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 19:00, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
    • What's so unique? The asexual reproduction part? There are creatures on Earth that do that. The Hold-Parent part? We have an article specifically for that. Darth Trayus Sith Emblem (Trayus Academy) 00:18, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
  7. Per jSarek, on the condition that the current lead quote for Father becomes the lead quote for Parent. Master JonathanJedi Council Chambers 19:13, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
  8. I say keep Parent, but merge Father and Mother into Parent. OLIOSTER Sith Emblem 00:26, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
  9. If we have Sexes describing Males and Females, why don't we follow the similar approach with Father and Mother and merge them into Parent? QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 19:20, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

  11. I don't think we're anywhere close to needing all 3 of these, but the info could be combined somewhere. —Xwing328(Talk) 17:06, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

  1. Personally I'd like to see them gone, bit I'm afraid the community will vote otherwise. You forgot to vote yourself, by the way. MauserComlink 21:20, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

  11. Nuke it. It was originally an unnecessary redirect whenever I moved "Father" to "Father (Rodian)". Then I checked my watchlist and saw it was made into an article. Trak Nar Ramble on 04:22, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
