Crowbar
WP:DICT case. We don't really have a strictly-IU alternative to the functionality of a crowbar so there's nothing to suggest incongruency, beyond the fact that crates are typically opened easily without a tool, via a lock, or by being smashed (none of which parallel the functionality of a crowbar to begin with).

- The lever is a stone-age tool. You may as well say it's incongruous that we have levers (of which a crowbar is one type) in our own modern world, given the advanced machinery we have. Incongruity requires the item in question to have some level of complexity to it; the braces cited by our dictionary policy are a specific configuration of many small parts. Simple tools will always be around to do simple jobs. There is nothing incongruous about this. (Additionally, it's absurd to claim a lightsaber or laser cutter do the same job as a crowbar. Crowbar the lid off a crate, and you can put it back on later. Good luck doing that after you've lightsabered it off.) Asithol (talk)

- I actually think that this qualifies under the "so utterly basic and non-alien that it creates a unique incongruity" since this is a setting with lightsabers, handsized mobile laser cutters, and all sorts of other high tech tools, it begs the question why a simple crowbar would be used instead. Prybar
The basic prybar page also applies to the whole WP:DICT shibang, though I believe this one has further credence in that it honestly should have been merged with crowbar to begin with. There is a specialized type of prybar—the power prybar and in turn the prybar 2800—that already has its own page, but as an all-encompassing page there's nothing that makes a standard prybar unique or really incongruent, and only the power prybar and prybar 2800 pages are necessary.

Hey, it's me! 04:59, 20 January 2024 (UTC) - What if there's a prybar that is neither the power prybar nor the prybar 2800, which, comparing their Appearances sections, seems to be the case? OOM 224 (he/him) 08:49, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
