This page is an archive of the discussion about the proposed deletion of the article below. This page is no longer live. Further comments should be made on the article's talk page or, if the page was deleted, in the Senate Hall rather than here so that this page is preserved as an historic record. The result of the debate was No consensus for both. Anıl Şerifoğlu (talk) 20:03, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
Looking at the franchise as a whole, there isn't exactly anything really... out of place about couches. Or any type of seating, for that matter, in Star Wars. Chairs, couches, and seats might look weird sometimes but there's not really a Star Wars-original alternative (at least, not one that's widespread enough) to suggest any incongruency nor is there a unique functionality to them that makes them uniquely Star Wars-y. Ergo, I would argue the pages for couches apply under WP:DICT.
Edit: Original Trash Compactor thread for the Legends Couch article. Edit 2: Another relevant TC thread, this time for the Canon article.

- Meh, in LEGO if couches are big and sturdy enough to withstand an AT-AT then I would say that's notable enough IU. I also wouldn't mind if the page's scope was just about that and Lando - Double or Nothing info was removed. Rsand 30 (talk) 20:08, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

- Per Rsand. Just remove the canon info and source, but keep the rest. Bonzane10

- Another TC thread, this time relevant to the Canon page, has been found. Link here - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 19:14, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- One could argue "sofa" is a different topic than "couch" though in my honest opinion that's a matter of semantics. In all honesty per the judgment of the Sofa TC the canon Couch page should have been ineligble on the outset. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 19:20, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- Couch/Legends should be moved to Antigravity couch and then deleted, and Couch should redirect there also. It is a parallel item to the real world counterpart but with GFFA characteristics that make it unique to the universe, just like shirt. - JMAS

- I agree that a page for the couches in general isn't necessary as the ones with an "otherworldly quality" are already covered in Repulsorlift couch, etc. Though it might be worth keeping [[Couch]] as a disambiguation page or a redirect to Category:Couches for navigational purposes.

Couch/Legends
Delete
- Referring back to my first TC nearly four years ago, Forum:TC:Couch: sure, Legends has got antigravity couches that float in the air, but nothing inherent to what a couch is has changed. A couch is still a couch, just with the extra antigrav technology of the Star Wars universe applied to it. OOM 224 (he/him) 19:11, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- Switching back to delete pretty quickly here, but making a note that it may be worth making a page for specifically the antigravity couch. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 19:15, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

Comments
- I was informed there was a previous TC for the Legends Couch page (which was at the time under the link now used for the canon page) here. Looking at what was discussed, the Legends Couch seems notable now, though the Canon one still applies under WP:DICT imo. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 19:08, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- Another cursory glance at the old TC indicates it may be prudent to move the Legends Couch page to "Antigravity couch" rather than simply "Couch" if it's decided it's notable. After all, not all couches in Legends can defy gravity. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 19:09, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- Absolutely agree that Couch/Legends should be moved to Antigravity couch, then deleted, and Couch should redirect there also. It is a parallel item to the real world counterpart but with GFFA characteristic that make it unique to the universe, just like shirt. - JMAS
