Celebration on Endor (history - links - logs - delete - protect)
I don't see why this needs to be an article. There's a reason Wookieepedia went ten years without creating a page for this "event" during the Expanded Universe era. I could maybe understand if this didn't have a conjectural title or even if a source said this celebration specifically marked the end of the Galactic Civil War, but neither is true. Anything that needs to be said for this celebration belongs in the "Aftermath" section of the Battle of Endor article. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 19:45, September 13, 2016 (UTC)

- I'd agree this doesn't need a page, in either Canon or Legends. In regards to the other examples: Royal Award Ceremony might also not be worth keeping, to be honest, but the Naboo ceremony at least was a major political moment in the reunification of the Naboo and the Gungans so that's worthy of an article. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:39, September 13, 2016 (UTC)
- This can very well be covered in the Aftermath for the main battle article. 1358 (Talk) 20:52, September 13, 2016 (UTC)

Keep
- Oh, after all... I'll get involved anyway, even if the mere start of a TC is the chronicle of a death foretold more often than not. I say keep, because that celebration is highly iconic, both OOU and IU. To quote Return of the Jedi: Beware the Power of the Dark Side!: "There are celebrations all across the galaxy (...) but nowhere is the celebration equal to that on the forest moon of Endor, where the joy of freedom is mixed with the exultation of a battle won against impossible odds." OOU, the event also has its own music track, "Victory Celebration", or even two if you count the superceded "Ewok Celebration". Granted, the existence of this track name proves little, excepet that it's definitely a memorable moment. More importantly, the celebration also appears in Shattered Empire 1, and Aftermath refers to the event (in Leia's big holo announcement, there are images of it). --LelalMekha (talk) 20:03, September 13, 2016 (UTC)
- The event also appears in or is referenced in dozens of Legends sources. That doesn't mean it needs an article. As I said, there's a reason we never created this page. Nothing you're saying here to try and defend this creation changes that. You could have spent this time expanding the appropriate section of the Battle of Endor article. - With all due respect, there's absolutely no need to criticize the way I spend my time. This is a TC, and I'm only trying to express a point of view, like everyone else. The fact that it wasn't created before doesn't really mean anything: it was I who created Royal Award Ceremony/Legends, and that was in 2012, six years into this wikia's existence. And you might argue it had a proper name, but it is only because I found one in an obscure comic retelling. --LelalMekha (talk) 20:12, September 13, 2016 (UTC)
- The existence, or lack thereof, of a Legends counterpart actually means a great deal, as it gives excellent insight into whether or not a page needs to exist. Before the Canon split, we did a pretty outstanding job of vetting what events needed pages and what events didn't. All things being equal, there's no reason why a page like this should exist in one continuity and not in the other, unless Canon, in this case, gives explicit evidence to support it, which it does not. - Well, you criticized me before I said that. And there's nothing inherently wrong with saying that there are no more options. --LelalMekha (talk) 20:28, September 13, 2016 (UTC)

Discussion
I kinda expected a TC to pOp up as soon as I created this stub, but won't spend much energy defending it. The only reason I made it is because we have the Royal Award Ceremony and the Freedom Day articles, although I realize those have proper names at least. --LelalMekha (talk) 19:47, September 13, 2016 (UTC)
