Bed (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)

I'm nominating the Canon bed article for the Trash compactor under the Wookieepedia is not a dictionary policy because the article demonstrates no otherworldly qualities.

However, I am not nominating the Legends version of this article because I believe it demonstrates sufficient Star Wars uniqueness to be kept. Firstly, the term "sleeper" is pretty much SW-unique: I've never heard of anyone in the world commonly refer to their bed as a "sleeper." Secondly, we have an example from Legacy of the Force: Fury of a bed that reacts to a person's movements while they sleep. This is the description from that story: In front of her was the corner of the bed she was lying on—a plain bed, its mattress very soft and comfortable but old-fashioned, not adjusting its shape to her as she moved. Certainly, smart beds exist today that adjust to your sleeping movements, but they're not commonplace household items; no one in today's world would refer to a normal, non-moving bed as "old-fashioned." This speaks to the advanced state of technology in the Star Wars galaxy.

Therefore, rather than Delete, I am setting the voting option to Redirect to Sleeper, as that is an alternative name for the Legends subject. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:37, October 13, 2017 (UTC)
