- I don't understand why you think this is "Fanwankery" It is a canon event and I think it should be up. (Admiral jolyon 20:31, 26 April 2008 (UTC))
It's not that silly an idea. Havac 21:15, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- That's quite different...if the article was documenting a high profile assassination attempt on a head of state which resulted in a full court trial and great public reaction, then it would probably be a keeper. But it's not, and IMHO it isn't. -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 21:30, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- This to me is a high profile assassination attempt. IMHO, Padme Ammidala is of political influence not just on Naboo but Couruscant, if not the galaxy as well. (Admiral jolyon 21:37, 26 April 2008 (UTC))
- It's a canon event, and an important one, imo. If the title is so-called "fanwank", then move it something that attempts to appease those involved, and slap a conjecture tag on it. Greyman

- Same argument, it's like having an article for the Han-Greedo shooting.--Goodwood

Merge
- Merge with Assassination on Coruscant if we're keeping that. —Silly Dan (talk) 21:28, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- We don't need both articles, but this did have ramifications, and is mentioned as notable in several other sources beside the film. However, I don't think we need two separate articles for Zam's assassination attempts. One should suffice. Cull Tremayne 08:00, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'd say merge into one article covering the comprehensive attempts on Amidala's life during Episode II. If they were broader-scale battles, they would be worthy of separate articles, but these are fairly small-scale (important, yes, but still small). Make one article detailing Zam being hired for the job, the decoy getting killed, her meeting with Jango, the second attempt, and Anakin's speeder chase that brings the assassination attempt (and Zam) to an end. It's an important McGuffin that sets up the events of Episode II. Brandon Peat 15:59, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Per Dan. Unit 8311 16:02, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Merge with Assassination on Coruscant. This event kicks off the entire film and its characteristics are similar to those of the Attack on Roan Fel.--Gonzalo84 16:34, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Merge per Silly Dan. In response to Havac's real world example, I would think that if Hinckley had eluded capture and attempted to kill Reagan in his hospital bed again that night, his attempts wouldn't be two different encyclopedia articles. jSarek 07:48, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- I can get behind a merge. Havac 16:24, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Merger's good. KEJ 17:07, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Merge at this name. Green Tentacle (Talk) 22:10, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

- In response to Havac, there's a huge difference between the notability of the Reagan attempt and this. If we're going to do this, we'll need articles for every time a bounty hunter tried to capture Han Solo and failed. We'll need a side article for Boba Fett's capture of Han Solo in ESB. Then, we'll extend that to all events and resurrect Luke Skywalker's dinner on Tatooine. Where does it end? Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:19, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, but it's a high-profile political assassination attempt. That's something different from a bounty hunter just trying to collect on a bounty. I think there is a clear line that we can draw that would permit this and not That time Obi-Wan picked his nose. I'd put this more in line with an article about the bombing of the Senate in The New Rebellion than in line with just Boba Fett jumping Han on Nar Shaddaa because there's a price on his head. Havac 00:55, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- That, to me, is the beauty of it. I've made articles on minor ships that were just present at stations such as Tinoon Station, Calast and Destreg Spaceport. I want to make as many articles as I possible can. (Admiral jolyon 21:48, 26 April 2008 (UTC))
- Look, I'd like to make the suggeston for an article called Assassination that at least could be of satisfaction for all of us. We have an article called Assassin Wikipedia redirected thier word "Assassin" for the same definition. Plus they made a list of assassinations and only placed those of significant importance. Can everyone post a response please? (Admiral jolyon 21:48, 26 April 2008 (UTC))
- No, I don't think we need a separate article on "assassination" in general, when we already have an article on "assassins." However, a article on a specific, significant assassination or assassination attempt is probably OK. Also, since I've voted for merge above, I'd suggest "Attack on Senator Amidala" or something like that as the title for an article covering both attempts in AOTC, since there were probably a lot of "Assassinations on Coruscant" over the years. —Silly Dan (talk) 01:02, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough, but how about the others such as Goodwood, or Havoc. Can I have you responses please. If you don't think we need an article for "Assassination" how about a list of Assassination attempts, and possibly a category of them as well? (Admiral jolyon 09:54, 27 April 2008 (UTC))
