Angry Birds supplements

So, many of these were created by Pickle as himself or as an anon; they are all supplementary children's books for a non-canon crossover game. Unlike some of the Lego reference books, they have no influence on or relation to actual canon (Legends or NuCanon) and serve no purpose on our site.

Keep

  1. Angry Birds Star Wars, though no-canon, is a series we cover. I don't see how the articles necessarily have less value than something like, say, the LEGO Star Wars books, also non-canon. ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:27, September 29, 2014 (UTC)
    • Then cover it in the game's article. Merchandise fluff like this only takes up space and occupies people's time when they can and should be working on Legends and NuCanon content, the stuff that our readers actually come here to read.   2. I agree with Tofty here. As evidenced on the covers, these books were officially licensed by Lucasfilm. They feature parodies of Star Wars characters, therefore they have as much relation to the Star Wars brand as the LEGO series. Just because the LEGO franchise portrays its characters similarly to how they look in the "real" Star Wars universe , while these books reimagine the main characters as Angry Birds doesn't make one or the other more outlandish or silly. Personally, I don't think that "Lard Vader" is more ridiculous than Luke Skywalker being chased by fangirls or Grievous serving as a TV antennae. Neither of these sub-franchises is meant to be taken seriously, and the Infinities brand exists for this very reason—to contain all of such stupidity under one brand without the need to classify it further as "something that's dumb but still kinda counts as Star Wars" and something that's "kinda called Star Wars, but doesn't really count." If we are fine with having a dozen articles for a bunch of random LEGO comics that no one cares about, these books should be kept as well. QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 15:22, September 30, 2014 (UTC)
  3. Definitely agreed. Just like the Yoda Chronicles spinoffs, the Angry Bird series are more-or-less self-contained, "consistent" media that we should be documenting, even if it is not part of the mainstream Star Wars saga.
