'N Sync (talk - history - links - logs)
A few years ago this article was TC'd, but sadly, it was unsuccessful. Nowadays, this article simply shouldn't stand alone by itself. Since it was part of Episode II's production (apparently), it could be merged into AOTC's article. If not, then I'd say delete. Note: this is a serious TC, so please no "N Sync sucks." This ain't 2008. JangFett (Talk) 04:36, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

- Given that their scenes were cut. I think it should be left as a redirect as there is no end to the minutia that people will search for. - JMAS

- There's never been anything close to confirmation that they even filmed any scenes. If we keep this article, we should create articles for Christopher Walken, Kurt Russell, and every other actor who was considered to play Han Solo. Menkooroo (talk) 05:47, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
- Supposedly Lucasfilm did confirm it was true, but the scenes got cut. - JMAS

- Well, they do suck. But, if there is no actual evidence they appeared on screen, then no article should be made. They didn't appear as the band, but as three individuals from a five-piece ensemble. However; if evidence (set photos, etc) come to light showing the alleged members in costume or on set, then I would suggest individual articles for each separate member who was part of the production. - Sir Cavalier of One

- Per Menkooroo and Cavalier One; this is just a rumor and there is currently no substantive evidence that they were actually involved in the making of the film. --Jinzler (talk) 08:32, June 29, 2013 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure only three members, not 'N Sync as a whole, took part of the production. Therefore, I don't see any reason to have an article on the band itself; however, I would support the creation of three articles for each of the persons as per Cav below. 1358 (Talk) 08:59, June 29, 2013 (UTC)

Keep
- Five years later, and I still find Ozzel's argument persuasive. jSarek (talk) 06:16, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
- Modifying my vote to Keep as disambig. People have convinced me that the fact that the band as a whole never was slated to appear in the films means it shouldn't get its own article; but people familiar with this rumor are likely to search for the band name, and it will serve as a convenient way for them to find the members who were slated to be extras. (If we wind up adding this as its own voting option, you (yes, YOU, <insert name here>!) have permission to move my vote there.) jSarek (talk) 01:20, July 1, 2013 (UTC)
- Per Ozzel. Adamwankenobi (talk) 12:54, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
- The band did not appear, however. Why should we have an article dedicated to a band when only a few of its singers supposedly had cameos? JangFett (Talk) 13:08, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
- Like Ozzel said, we have precedent for extras cut from the films, such as Bai Ling. See Forum:TC:'N Sync#Comments ;) Adamwankenobi (talk) 13:15, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
- True, but I think Jang is refering to the fact that only three members of the five-member band appeared. In this context, "N'Sync" did not appear or were cast in the movie. Members of the band were. Strange as it sounds, I would support a motion to create separate articles for the three members with accurate sourcing of course. - Sir Cavalier of One

- I saw that last night, but I don't understand the logic behind it, especially "'N Sync controversy." Any sort of "production event" could be noted in AOTC's article. Using your example, Bai Ling was interviewed by many after rumors appeared. Unlike this 'N Sync issue, she's only representing herself. My point stands. JangFett (Talk) 13:26, June 20, 2013 (UTC)

Discussion
- Should we keep the redirect or move without a redirect? Looking at the previous TC, there were discussions regarding "people searching for this topic." A redirect could be useful here, assuming people actually search for this today. JangFett (Talk) 04:36, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
- I'd keep it. Redirects are cheap, and this one is a reasonable search query. My only condition is that it be pointed to the specific section of the AOTC article that discusses this, otherwise it will be worse than useless as it will confuse people. —MJ— Training Room 05:08, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
- Not sure if this is notable or not but they do appear in a music video under Spoofs on the 3rd bonus disc of Star Wars The Complete Saga Blu-ray edition. DarthRevan1173
