So the WP:LG/IU says "Appearances should be sorted in order of in-universe chronology, with earlier sources listed before later ones." However, non-canon sources don't necessarily have a in-universe date. The general consensus in the previous SH about this issue was to sort them by release date. I want to bring this up again to get more feedback before I create a CT. I propose that the following bullet point be added under the Appearances section, a subbullet of "Appearances should be sorted in order of in-universe chronology, with earlier sources listed before later ones." which states that *"Non-canon narrative material shall be sorted by release date instead of in-universe chronology, with the earliest media first."   • I do agree with the need for a Layout Guide amendment to codify where to list the rare non-canon cases like Ronin: A Visions Novel, which does not fit into the actual Star Wars narrative, but I personally prefer to have all in-universe media listed in order of IU chronology, whether they are canon or not.     • I agree that it makes more sense to order all NC appearances by release date instead of IU-date, because it is much more clear than trying to have some by release date and some by iu date. ThrawnChiss7 Mitth symbol Assembly Cupola 20:20, 3 February 2024 (UTC)
      • To reply to Anil's point, I think mixing together in-universe chronological ordering with release date–based one would be the most reader-confusing approach. And since there apparently are non-canon works that we just can't put into a chronological ordering, to me it seems like ordering by release date is the only practical approach.
