'Tis the season to get rid of useless hangovers from the olden days, and I came across a little something called [[Wookieepedia:Site feature policy]] the other day, and it should just go. It's useless bureaucracy, and Wookieepedia no longer observes the policy anyway; in classic 2009-Wook fashion, it mandates that any new feature introduced by Fandom must be disabled and then voted on for approval here. Whatever you think of Fandom, the excessive anti-Fandom sentiment expressed in the site feature policy and its sister paragraphs in WP:NOT just aren't helpful to us. These days Wookieepedians work with Fandom to get goodies like Interactive Maps, Discussions-only blocks, and the Discussions AbuseFilter, and we have yet to figure out what to do with them/see about updating relevant policies, let alone voting on them! Most importantly, if the community indeed wishes to get rid of a feature, then of course we should run a vote prohibiting their use, but it's time to say bye-bye to policies such as this one that simply don't work. If there's anything I missed here, please point them out. I'll prolly bring this to the CT by the weekend. OOM 224 17:45, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

  • This does seem a little silly, especially since most of the things Fandom does are for the better. I say repeal. JediMasterMacaroni(Talk) 17:52, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
  • Bring it to the CT. Rakhsh (talk) 17:59, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

  • I somewhat agree with the policy, but it's more or less unenforceable, so just get rid of it. At least the new features in last two years or so have actually been improvements. 01miki10 Open comlink 21:10, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
  • This policy is way too cumbersome, in my opinion. Away with it! You don't have to be crazy to hang out with me. I'll train you. –Nightlily (sing your song) 12:54, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
  • Er, for the record, this has already been CT'd. Imperators II(Talk) 13:45, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
