I'm proposing that we add a |production company= field to the {{Movie}}, {{Television_season}}, and {{Television_episode}} templates.
Point 1: Visions
Star Wars: Visions always features distinct production companies from across the world, and as of now, they are either clunkily listed in the "creator" field (which is intended for real-life individuals credited as creators), or only listed in the body, despite them being prominent in all media promoting the series. Adding a production company field helps rectify this.
Point 2: Other productions
Beyond visions, many key creators of Star Wars film and television have their own personal production companies (and thus employees, resources) partner with Lucasfilm on their production. Take Bad Robot Productions for The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker, or Golem Creations (Jon Favreau) for The Mandalorian (and spinoffs) and Shoot to Midnight (Leslye Headland) for The Acolyte. Interestingly, neither of these companies have articles yet, but they should be covered under the scope of this wiki.
This is only going to continue with Star Wars: Starfighter reportedly partnering with Shawn Levy's 21 Laps.
Similarly, Young Jedi Adventures is outsourced to Wild Canary and ICON Creative Studio (both requiring articles that are within our scope).
Field placement
Open to other ideas, but here are my suggestions:
- {{Movie}}, under
|music= - {{Television_season}}, under
|executive producers= - {{Television_episode}}, under
|guests=

Discussion
- I noticed this while making the Visions episodes yesterday, yeah. I can add the field to the template tomorrow morning and infoboxer it across all current usages. Cade

- Good idea. Imperators II(Talk) 08:42, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- Should all production companies be listed? What counts as a production company? As documented on Star Wars: The Acolyte article, aside from Shoot to Midnight (I feel that personal production companies are redundant to their respective creator) and Lucasfilm itself (which I also feel is redundant for us to list), Sur Films provided production services on-location in Madeira, Skywalker Sound provided sound services, and ILM as usual led visual effects services (with its three studios in London, Vancouver, and Mumbai). We also have additional visual effects services by Yannix of Bangkok, SDFX Studios in Toronto, Outpost Visual Effects based in London, beloFX based in Vancouver, Rising Sun Pictures in Adelaide, Luma Pictures in Los Angeles, Hybride in Montreal, and visualization services by Proof. Lucasfilm had also set up a wholly owned subsidiary called Blue Stockings (UK) to manage production in England and Wales, but it isn't intended to be public information; the only place it is publicly listed is on Companies House, and that's only because the UK has a public online register of every company, so I don't think it is appropriate or relevant to list it. - In-industry, the "production company" would be the main company attached, vs outsourced companies that do VFX, or promotion, etc. They still work in "production" but that's a different type of company altogether compared to like an animation studio. As for the companies of the creators being redundant, that's not really the case. Favreau and Headland had employees on their payroll who worked on those projects in an official production capacity through their company. Shoot to Midnight and Golem aren't just simple vanity titles/labels. Dentface (talk) 22:50, 22 April 2025 (UTC)
