JSarek recently proposed reworking the Votes for deletion page and restructuring it using a forum format. Below is the proposal that I came up with (see Forum:Category for vfd):

    • After giving this a little thought, I am a little uneasy about the "Add new VFD" button. As an alternative, I think that it might be better to make some changes to the {{vfd}} template and make it the primary way to create a VFD page. Using the {{#ifexist:}} parser function, I can modify it to include page creation instructions only if a VFD subpage has not yet been created. That way, we can make sure that the relevant article/page has been correctly VFD tagged wile also ensuring that the VFD page is correctly named. Thoughts?–SentryTalk 23:53, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

      • If the page exists, the template will render exactly like it does now and the second box will not appear at all. The text "this article's entry" will be turned into a link to the VFD page.–SentryTalk 22:18, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
