Alright. The Wookieepedia:Manual of Style does state what tense In-universe articles should be in. However, there is no mention of the required tense for articles that cover Out of Universe material. Therefore, I proffer the following idea for vote by the community:
On the Manual of Style under the section of Usage and Spelling and the subsection of Tense add the following lines:
All Out of universe articles should be written in the tense that best fits the current state of the subject being described.
For example: For out of universe articles covering living persons should be written in a present tense. (Past tense may be used when writing about the living person's past works, achievements, etc.) For out of universe articles covering deceased persons the past tense should be used. For out of universe articles on future products the present tense will be used. And lastly, for out of universe articles on previously released products the present tense should be used.Like the other current CT I don't think this will effect (Or is it affect?) many articles. It is simply for clarification's sake. Fe Nite (talk) 20:09, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

- I think this is better than leaving no mention at all. Fe Nite (talk) 20:09, June 4, 2013 (UTC)

Against
- This seems to be a long way around to saying, "the tense of OOU articles should be selected as is logical." That's what we do already. Ergo, there's no need to adopt this proposal. ~Savage

- I also have concern for the wording and grammar and overall presentation of this proposal. Maybe have an admin look it over and reword some things. It doesn't seem like it says exactly what you want it to say, in my opinion. MasterFred

- I don't think the layout guide says anything about tense. As for the wording, I wan't exactly sure what to say so if an admin or anyone else wants to change it up a bit… Fe Nite (talk) 14:07, June 5, 2013 (UTC)
- It's covered for sources in the dedicated OOU article Layout Guide. There isn't a section for people in that yet, but since not too many articles on real people have been taken to status I would question the benefit of writing up any LG/OOU rules for them right now, especially if it were to be done piecemeal. Even if you wanted to write up a whole section for them, we don't really have enough work done on them to see what works, what doesn't, what aspects should be generalized, and what aspects should be flexible to cover real people. Their lives can be more complicated than fictional characters'. NaruHina Talk
