I have seen quite a few infoboxes being added to articles where there is only information for the name and one other field. Given that this is basically an empty infobox, I think that the addition of an infobox in such circumstances is unnecessary and looks pretty clunky. Given that the information in the one field will already be in the main text of the article, I propose adding a note to the Infobox section of the Layout Guide that infoboxes should only be used where there is information for two or more fields. An example would be Barrckli. --Eyrezer (talk) 03:08, August 24, 2013 (UTC)
- Infoboxes should only be used where there is information for two or more fields (in addition to the article's name).

- No. If there's information that can go in the infobox—any information—then it should go in the infobox, even if it's the only thing. This is regardless of whether it's the era, the gender, species, etc. Cade

- I find infoboxes make the article look neater, even if it's only 2 fields filled. Supreme Emperor (talk) 03:19, August 24, 2013 (UTC)

- I always thought single-line infoboxes looked silly, but then I thought I should echo Dionne Jinn here. Plus consistency, yay team. Corellian Premier

- I think pages just don't look quite right to me without infoboxes. Commander Code-8 You lost the game! 08:16, August 29, 2013 (UTC)

- I'm happy enough to see a snowball, but I should clarify: should those opposing be interpreted as supporting a "one field" minimum? I.e., name plus one piece of information? (Or are people happy to see an infobox with only the name...!) --Eyrezer (talk) 09:28, August 26, 2013 (UTC)
- I think that there should be at least one field in the infobox to have one; just having an empty infobox with the name seems like overkill to me.--Exiled Jedi

- I have a question about Barrckli. Why is the "Organization" infobox being used for him instead of the "Species" infobox?--Richterbelmont10 (come in R2!) 16:19, August 26, 2013 (UTC)
- Because we don't know whether it's a species. I believe Barrckli was mentioned only once in passing, so the editor chose an organization infobox to be safe. Cade

- While we're on the subject of infoboxes, I would like to request that more infoboxes in Wookieepedia:Template messages/Infoboxes have an explanation of what goes into the Data Fields. For example, the Ship template has a wonderful guide that explains what goes into each field. However, most of the other infoboxes do not have such helpful guides. For example, in Template:Event, what goes into the "Key" field? A guide would be very helpful in this instance.--Richterbelmont10 (come in R2!) 17:11, August 26, 2013 (UTC)
