The result of the debate was to make the proposal an official policy. --Imp 14:55, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

- Also support speedying, but only in case of new uploads. Old should be dealt with through the current WookieeProject. Havac 08:26, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- QuentinGeorge 08:50, 9 December 2006 (UTC) - speedying is also a good idea. QuentinGeorge 08:50, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

- It needs a few changes before i change my vote. Mainly, i don't agree with the immediate deletion if no description is provided. Jasca Ducato Sith Council Sith Campaign 21:06, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Instead of 7 days, I'd even support *immediate* speedying of images without description, source, and licensing information included. Fields for these are there when you first try to upload; if you don't have sense enough to include the info then, you've got until an admin finds it and deletes it to fix that oversight. Maybe if users found their images deleted almost immediately they'd recognize the need to meet these minimal criteria; if not, at least copyright-infringing, unfair-use images would be dealt with swiftly, rather than lingering. jSarek 07:59, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Alright, I changed the policy to reflect the above. --Imp 14:36, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps we should change it to 24 hours or so—it would keep us admins from making rash decisions. --Imp 19:24, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'd like to see the policy deal with the issue of whether or not to white-out text in comic scans. - breathesgelatinTalk 02:31, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I've been enforcing the description policy since I fixed the upload page, so I'm obviously in favor. -- Darth Culator (Talk)(Kills) 02:34, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- The phrasing "An image will be deleted as soon as an administrator finds it" seems a little vague, especially when considering images that "remain unused". I mean, how are we supposed to know how long the image has remained unused? A new user or an anon may have just removed it from a page and replaced it with something awful.–SentryTalk 03:12, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well, as I originally suggested, the immediate deletion would be for stuff without the three essential bits of information, not for stuff that was floating without a home; that should definitely have a bit more lag time. jSarek 22:36, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
