The result of the debate was use "starship" when naming conjectural ship articles. Graestan(Talk) 19:08, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
I have recently browsed a bit through our articles and have seen that conjectural articles about starships have no standardization in their naming. There's Ki-Adi-Mundi's ship, Dace Diath's ship and Empress Teta's ship on the one hand, but Tiatkin's starship, Azlyn Rae's starship and Exar Kun's starship on the other hand. Furthermore, we have Jabitha (ship), Aken (ship) and Pulsar Skate (ship), but also Morrt (starship), Reyna (starship) and Loranda (starship). These examples are not the only ones that are inconsistently named. Since a standard has been created for creatures, I think there should be one for conjecturally named starships and the parantheses title as well. Of course, things that are refered as "starship" or "ship" by canon would not be affected if we'd decide to create a standard. I have no real preference in this matter, but I think that a standard would be helpful in this case. If someone worries about how to move all the articles and fixing their links, I'd take care of this if no one else wants to. Pranay Sobusk ~ Talk 12:02, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

- I think it's a good idea to keep things consistent, but I really don't care whether we go with ship or starship. I guess "starship" is more specific than just plain "ship", though, so I'm voting here. Jonjedigrandmaster (Jujiggum) 12:42, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

- Assuming this is simply to differentiate between having an article at "Intimidator (starship)" vs. "Intimidator (ship)." This shouldn't be used as an end-all stipulation for all starship articles. In most cases, it's best to specify what kind of ship it is. Ex: "Intimidator (Imperial-class Star Destroyer)." Toprawa and Ralltiir 01:39, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

- This would only not work if the ship was one that sailed on liquid. Good reason to have this distinction. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:04, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
