This one's a simple amendment concerning Template:DidYouKnow and Wookieepedia:Spoilers. Since DidYouKnow is a Main Page template, and QOTD is no longer in use, I propose the following update to the spoiler policy.
This line at the top of the policy page:
- "Also, Quotes of the Day may not appear on the Main Page until at least one month after the United States release of the quote's source."
is to be replaced with the following:
- "Also, spoilers may not be featured in the DidYouKnow template."
The DidYouKnow template already has an informal notice telling people not to add spoilers, so this just codifies an established practice while removing references to the obsolete QOTD feature. Plus, there's no need to define what a spoiler is here since the opening lines of the spoiler policy already does the job.

- Seems like a good improvement. Perhaps even a blanket ban on Main Page spoilers, regardless of the template in question, would be something to consider to future-proof the page against other changes to its content. jSarek (talk) 22:52, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

- Out of curiosity, why is the one month specification removed? Braha'tok enthusiast Hello there 17:13, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
- Probably because the spoiler policy defines spoilers as being less than a month old. VergenceScatter (talk) 17:28, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, I should have been clearer there. I meant that there's no need to keep the one month thing when the opening lines of the spoiler policy already define what a spoiler is. OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 17:36, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah that's fine. Braha'tok enthusiast Hello there 18:57, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
- Given that the link to Wookieepedia:Spoilers on the DYK template is part of commented-out text and thus can't be clicked on, would adding a brief reminder of the one-month specification in that comment be helpful even if it's redundant with the policy? jSarek (talk) 22:52, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
- I think adding the link to Template:DYK_editintro and changing "major" to "any" there would do the job OOM 224 ༼༽talk༼༽ 15:22, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
