Flight controller

A flight controller was an individual responsible for directing starfighters in combat. The Galactic Empire relied heavily on flight controllers. The Alliance to Restore the Republic experimented with flight controllers during the Galactic Civil War, such as when General Jan Dodonna directed the beginning attack runs during the Battle of Yavin.
