A flier or flyer was a term for repulsorlift-powered droids or vehicles.
History and definitions
- "Grab a flyer, Bane! Let us kill some Jedi!"
- ―Githany
During the New Sith Wars, the Brotherhood of Darkness made use of flier vehicles.[1]
Fliers were common on the planet Coruscant during the Clone Wars.
Vehicles such as speeder bikes used by the Galactic Empire were also called flyers.[2] Unlike the earlier Sith fliers,[1] those typically had a maximum altitude of 10 meters (32 feet).
The boomerang droid Fido was called a miniature flyer.[3]
Behind the scenes
The comic series Star Wars: Jedi vs. Sith initially denoted these vehicles as "flyers", however the novel, Darth Bane: Path of Destruction and later sources identify these vehicles as "fliers".
