A male individual was the nephew of Imperial Admiral Firmus Piett.[2] In 3 ABY,[3] they were set to receive command of the[2] Imperial II-class Star Destroyer[4] Vigilance until Darth Vader instead gave command of the vessel to Commodore Rae Sloane for her discovery that the Millennium Falcon had hidden inside an exogorth within the Hoth asteroid belt.[2] Piett's nephew was aboard the second Death Star in 4 ABY[5] when Lord Vader arrived to oversee the construction of the Death Star.[1]
Behind the scenes
In canon, Piett's nephew was first mentioned in the short story "Lord Vader Will See You Now."[2] The concept of Firmus Piett having a nephew can be dated back to Legends, where the "Death Star II Limited" card game set identified an Imperial officer aboard the Death Star II as Captain Sarkli, Piett's nephew.[6]
