Plot summary
Jedi Grand Master Yoda and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker stand before a menacing prototype megadroid who is ready to attack. Both Jedi recognizing the challenge ahead due to the droid's immense stature and lightsaber-resistant durasteel exterior. Yoda, to whom size matters not, leaps into action and swipes at the droid with his lightsaber to no success. When Skywalker creates a distraction, Yoda opens up a service plate on the droid's back and crawls into the megadroid. Unfortunately, the panel snaps closed, locking Yoda inside.
At that moment, the droid activates thrusters, escaping Golatha's atmosphere. In space, Yoda swings his lightsaber from within the droid, disabling it, but still trapped inside as the cold of space seeps in. Yoda enters meditation, recognizing the dire danger he faces.
Soon, Skywalker arrives in a Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor to rescue Yoda and recover the megadroid, which he finds is spinning uncontrollably. The two Jedi work out a plan in which Skywalker would use the Force to stop the rotation of the megadroid and Yoda would cut his way out from the inside of the droid, where the durasteel plating would not prevent lightsaber damage. The two successfully execute the maneuver, and Skywalker receives Yoda into the starfighter after a brief Force-guided unprotected spacewalk.
Later, aboard the Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ship Aspirant, Skywalker discusses Yoda's minor injuries with medical staff ahead of visiting the little Jedi in the medical bay, where he is being cared for by the 2-1B surgical droid TB-5. Skywalker informs Yoda that the megadroid was recovered and brought to the ship's cargo bay.
Troubled, Skywalker asks Yoda if he made the younger Jedi stop the droid's rotation as a test, to which Yoda said he would never tell.
Years later, on Dagobah, Yoda talks to the Force spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi who feels Yoda has been avoiding him. Yoda finally acknowledges Kenobi's death, but tells him how the enemy they face is too big for him to defeat. He feels that he failed in many ways and that the shadow which has fallen over the galaxy is his fault; therefore, Yoda believes the galaxy is better off without him.
