Stabilizing coolant was a type of chemical coolant that slowed uncontrolled reactions like that of rhydonium. Starships could have a system installed within their cargo holds which could spray stabilizing coolant onto cargo that it was transporting.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] Kay Vess paid a mechanic a thousand credits and provided them with ten cargo signature scramblers to install a stabilizing coolant system in the cargo hold of the Trailblazer, her EML-850 light freighter. This allowed her to more effectively smuggle rhydonium for the Miyuki Trade League.[1]
Behind the scenes
Stabilizing coolant first appeared in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on May 15, 2025.[3] Players could purchase the "Stabilizing coolant" update for their ship to increased the time they have to time to complete timed smuggling contracts.[1]
