A cargo signature scrambler was a type of circuity that could be used to impede detection and reading of cargo signatures. As such, the Galactic Empire had made them illegal[1] by 3 ABY.[2] However, the scrambler continued to be available on the black market and used by experienced smugglers.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] the Miyuki Trade League would regularly give out scramblers to individuals who successfully completed smuggling contracts for them. Merchants affiliated with the Trade League would also be willing to sell the scramblers.[1]
Behind the scenes
Cargo signature scramblers appeared as an upgrade component in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on May 15, 2025.[3]
