- "I'm pregnant, not hamstrung. You think it would be better for our kid if I spent all day lying around sucking on oorp?"
- ―Mara Jade Skywalker
Oorp was a healthy but bland liquid food supplement developed for pregnant beings.[1] While pregnant[2] in 26 ABY,[3] the Human Mara Jade Skywalker dismissed her husband Luke Skywalker's concerns about how far she could walk on an artificial beach on the planet Coruscant, questioning if he really thought it would be better for their child for her to sit around sucking on oorp instead.[2]
Behind the scenes
Oorp was first mentioned in The New Jedi Order: Edge of Victory II: Rebirth, which was written by Greg Keyes and released in 2001 as the second book in the Edge of Victory Duology, a part of the wider Star Wars: The New Jedi Order series of novels.[2]
