A clothes steamer hisses as Yord Fandar uses it on his mission robes

Clothes steamers were devices with a steam head and a water bulb that were used to steam clothing. Manufactured by Ayelixe Fabrico, they were available during the High Republic Era, during which the Jedi Knight Yord Fandar traveled with one as part of a full tailoring kit. In 132 BBY, he used it to steam his mission robes on board the Polan-717 Jedi transport Polan GX-8 before departing on a mission to the planet Carlac.

Yord Fandar traveled with a clothes steamer in his tailoring kit.

During the High Republic Era, the Jedi Knight Yord Fandar traveled with a clothes steamer as part of a full tailoring kit, as he was so particular about his appearance, he needed the ability to iron out any imperfections.[1] In 132 BBY,[3] after being assigned to a mission to arrest the former Jedi Verosha Aniseya on[2] the planet[1] Carlac, Fandar boarded the[2] Jedi Polan-717 Jedi transport Polan GX-8[1] at the Jedi Temple on the[2] planet[1] Coruscant and removed his mission robes to steam them with the clothes steamer.[2]

Jedi Master Sol and his Padawan, Jecki Lon, then came upon the shirtless Fandar in the process of steaming, causing the knight to quickly put the steamer's nozzle down and bow. Sol did not acknowledge Fandar's state of undress when speaking to him, but Lon chastised him for being shirtless.[2]

Behind the scenes

A clothes steamer appeared in "Lost / Found,"[2] the first episode of the live-action television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired on Disney+ on June 4, 2024.[4] It was first identified in the 2025 reference book Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
