Helska system

The Helska system was a star system located in the Outer Rim Territories^[1] and New Territories,^[2] within the Dalonbian sector. It was situated in grid square L-2 on the Standard Galactic Grid.^[1]

Behind the scenes

The Helska system was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon on a galactic map in Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 boxed set for Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.^[3] The system was later identified as the "Helska system" in "Star Systems of the Galaxy,"^[1] an appendix accompanying the Star Wars Galaxy Map, an article on StarWars.com featuring a map of the galaxy.^[4] Both works were authored by Jason Fry and posted on June 24, 2025.^[5] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Helska system was introduced in The New Jedi Order: Vector Prime, a 1999 novel authored by R. A. Salvatore as the first installment of the Star Wars: The New Jedi Order series.^[6] It was first visually depicted in "Making the Map," an article authored by Daniel Wallace for the sixty-fifth issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine,^[7] which was published on January 21, 2003.^[8]
