Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

A rescue mission to Mytus VII was undertaken by the Rebel Alliance early in the Galactic Civil War to liberate Rebel pilots from Stars' End.

Prelude

With the assistance of Rebel Alliance Intelligence, two Rebel pilots incarcerated at the Stars' End prison on Mytus VII were able to escape the planet by stowing away onboard the outbound[1] Corporate Sector Authority[5] BFF-1 bulk freighter Hampton.[1]

The mission

A rescue team was sent to rendezvous with the freighter and free the prisoners, with the Lambda-class T-4a shuttle Mercy docking with the Hampton for their extraction. For the three minutes that the extraction would take, the Rebel boarders would be vulnerable to the Imperial forces stopping and searching craft in the area, including the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate Furious, the Delta-class DX-9 stormtrooper transport group Omicron, and the TIE/LN starfighters of Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta Squadrons. In the event of the frigate's arrival, two BTL Y-wing starfighters from Red Squadron were tasked with shielding the shuttle for long enough to complete the rescue.[1]

Aftermath

The Rebel agents were successfully rescued,[5] and the engagement was later simulated as a training mission by the Alliance, intended to teach prospective Y-wing pilots the craft's versatility, escorting Alliance ships while engaging Imperial forces. Agamarian Rebel Keyan Farlander was assigned to the simulation by training officer Wex Dafid prior to Farlander's recruitment into the Alliance flagship Independence's Red Squadron.[2]

Behind the scenes

The battle first appeared in the 1993 video game Star Wars: X-Wing as the fifth Y-wing historical mission, "Escape From Mytus VII."[1]

While the Rebel shuttle present during this mission is identified as the Mercy by X-Wing's strategy guide[2] and gameplay, the pre-mission briefing refers to it as the Oola.[1]
