- "Hmm. Did I miss your report on the status of the queen of Naboo and her allies? Or did you not manage to capture any of them in your conquest?"
"I don't need the queen. The rest have bowed to me just fine." - ―Ghirra Starros and Abediah Viess
A female individual served as queen of the Mid Rim planet Naboo, her homeworld, during the High Republic Era. In 228 BBY, Naboo was brought into the Nihil marauders' Occlusion Zone region of space after the Nihil leader Marchion Ro expanded the Stormwall hyperspace barrier.
Afterward, the planet was subjugated by Nihil General Abediah Viess, though the queen was taken into hiding by her guard, therefore meaning she escaped capture by the Nihil. While the queen remained in hiding, Viess occupied Naboo until the planet was liberated later that year by the Jedi Order and Republic Defense Coalition.
Biography
- "We believe the queen and most of her government are intact but deep in hiding, and we're unsure what their reaction will be, just as we don't know if we'll be remaining in the system or if we'll need to clear out quickly, depending on the situation with the Stormwall."
- ―Avar Kriss
A female individual native to[1] the Mid Rim[2] planet Naboo lived during the High Republic Era.[1] By 228 BBY,[3] she served as queen of Naboo for the Royal House of Naboo.[1] That year,[3] Marchion Ro—the leader of the Nihil marauders—expanded the Nihil's Stormwall hyperspace barrier, engulfing most of the Chommell sector where Naboo was located, including the planet itself, inside the pirates' Occlusion Zone region of space.[1]
The queen escaped into hiding when Nihil General Abediah Viess (pictured) subjugated Naboo.
With Naboo in Nihil territory, the planet was taken over and occupied by forces led by General[1] Abediah Viess[2]—who served as the Nihil's Minister of Protection—with the queen evading capture by Viess' forces as she was spirited off into hiding by her guard.[1] Later that year,[3] while the general attended a meeting of the Nihil ministers on the Gaze Electric—Ro's flagship—Minister of Information Ghirra Starros questioned if she had missed a report from Viess about the queen's status, before asking if the general had been unable to capture the queen or any of her allies when she took over Naboo. In response, Viess stated that she did not need the queen as the rest of the planet had bowed down to her.[1]
A short while later, when the San Tekka clan member Cair San Tekka—a human native of Naboo—returned to his homeworld, he mentally recalled the queen's escape from the Nihil, noting she had been taken away so fast and thoroughly that she had yet to be found. He then added that he had not been able to learn of any truth that she had even remained on Naboo. Not long later, before the Jedi Order and Republic Defense Coalition launched an assault to chase the Nihil from Naboo and to reestablish the planet's defenses and comms, Jedi Master Avar Kriss informed her Jedi colleagues that the Galactic Republic and Jedi believed the queen and her government remained intact but they were still hidden. Kriss then noted they were also unsure of how the queen and government would react. Ultimately, the assault resulted in Naboo's liberation from Viess' forces.[1]

- ↑ 3.0 3.1 3.2 3.3 The High Republic: Temptation of the Force establishes that Naboo became part of the Occlusion Zone following the Stormwall's first expansion but before the events of the novel. The High Republic Adventures (2023) 4 and Temptation of the Force commence one year and two weeks and one year and six weeks after the Starlight Beacon's destruction, respectively, dating both to 228 BBY per the reasoning here. As The High Republic Adventures (2023) 6—which depicts the Stormwall's first expansion—takes place immediately following The High Republic Adventures (2023) 4, Naboo must have been brought into the Occlusion Zone in 228 BBY. Temptation of the Force also establishes the woman served as Monarch of Naboo at the time of Naboo being brought into the Occlusion Zone.
