- "The emitter duct isn't connected to the field projector."
"Yep, I see it." - ―Fillik and Verosha Aniseya
A field projector was a piece of technology used in shield generators on board starships.[1] In 132 BBY,[2] the meknek Fillik discovered that the emitter duct was not connected to the field projector when carrying out repairs on the shield generators of[1] the Fallon, a Trade Federation WD-2550 Whydah-class yield conveyer.[3] The meknek Verosha Aniseya then used the PIP droid Pip to begin welding on the ships exterior, but this led to a spike in the pressure gauge and caused a small explosion nearby on the ship's exterior.[1] A stabilizing field projector was also equipped to Sheathipede-class transport shuttles, personal transport shuttles that were also employed by the Trade Federation.[4]
Behind the scenes
The field projector was first mentioned in "Miscellaneous Ships and Vehicles (2),"[4] a booklet in a series of reference booklets titled the Star Wars Encyclopedia, published by De Agostini on July 29, 2022.[5] The field projector later appeared in "Lost / Found,"[1] the first episode of the television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired June 4, 2024 on Disney+.[6]
