Fen slugs were a type of slug known to the Chiss Ascendancy.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] while flying in one of the shuttles of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet heavy cruiser Springhawk during a mission in the Unknown Regions Rapacc system, the Chiss Mitth'ali'astov, core name "Thalias," compared the maneuverability of the shuttle to that of a fen slug.[1]

Fen slugs were mentioned in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
