Details
- "Either way, they became highly valued, not only for their skills in the cockpit, but also for their discretion when it came to keeping their masters' travel plans under wraps."
- ―R0-GR
The FA-4 was a pilot droid model with a thin, spindly frame mounted on a wheeled unit. They had ball heads, and at over two meters in height were tall enough to pilot many starships,[4] including Punworcca 116-class interstellar sloops.[2] FA-4 units had the unordinary ability to be discreet regarding their masters' travels.[5]
History
Darth Tyranus and his FA-4.
FA-4 droids were utilized in the last decades of the Galactic Republic,[4] and during the Clone Wars. The Sith Lord Count Dooku, head of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, owned at least two FA-4 pilot droids, which he used onboard his Punworcca 116-class interstellar sloop solar sailer.[2] One droid piloted the Sith from the planet Geonosis to the planet Coruscant after the Separatists' defeat during the First Battle of Geonosis.[6] This droid was destroyed when Dooku crashed onto the planet Vanqor. The pirate Hondo Ohnaka later held the droid's face plate.[7] At some point afterwards Dooku would acquire another of this droid.[8]
FA-4 units also worked on Coruscant itself, and around the time of the Battle of Coruscant, these droids bustled around the Senate Building[4] and the Senate Office Building.[9]
