Around the year 24 BBY,[3] the Alpha tribes people on the planet Kenari[4] launched an exploratory mission to investigate a downed craft.[6] It was their hope to secure supplies from the crashed Galactic Republic transpo corsair.[2] The Republic ship had the logo of[7] the recently formed[8] Confederacy of Independent Systems,[7] and the crew had succumbed to a poison.[1] A surviving Republic officer killed the Alpha leader, leading to the children killing the officer but leaving with their leader's body. However, one boy, Kassa, was left angered[5] and entered the crashed starship, where he found the remains of the poisoned crew and began destroying his surroundings. There, he was found by the Andor family of scavengers, who took him off-world to keep him save from an incoming Republic reprisal.[1]

Behind the scenes

The exact faction to which the crashed ship belonged is left unclear. While the vessel and its crew don the markings of the Separatist Alliance,[5] the Andor family identify the crew as Republic officers and notice a Republic frigate is incoming.[1] The trivia gallery for "Reckoning" only vaguely touches on the matter, claiming the symbol worn by the crew is that of "the eventual Separatist Alliance."[7] The articles "Kassa"[9] and Star Wars: Andor Season One Companion in Star Wars Insider 217 firmly identify the vessel as a Republic ship.[2] While the Star Wars Insider 219 article "Galactic Britain II: Cassian's Travels" claims the ship was a Separatist cruiser,[10] Star Wars Insider 220 repeated that it was a Republic transport in the article "On Program."[11] As such, this article follows the majority of sources[2][9][11] and the Andor family's comments[1] by assuming the ship is a Republic vessel that—for reasons not yet revealed—was adorned with a Separatist logo and had a crew wearing the same.
