Erwen Lunn was a Sullustan male and the father of Gala Key Arena worker Lyal Lunn. The Lunn family had lived on Kwenn at least since Erwen's great-grandparents were children, when they had watched the Grand Renewal of Kwenn. His grandparents had built a house on Zyboh Key with a view of the brazier in the Jedi outpost on Sanctuary Mount, and even when Erwen's wife had the opportunity to leave Kwenn for her job, she quit in order to stay and raise Lyal there.[1]
Lyal was his father's caretaker in his later years, when Erwen became ill and disabled. He modified their flat on Addoa Key to accommodate his father's reduced mobility, and attempted to earn money for a medical droid by selling drugs for the Filthy Credits pirate gang. After an attempt on Lyal's life, he asked Jedi Master Yoda make sure his father was taken care of. Yoda spent most of a day with Erwen, who recognized the Master from the holograms his great-grandparents had made during the Grand Renewal. He asked Yoda many questions about the past, and then spoke about his family history and his love for Lyal. Erwen was growing weaker, and Yoda realized he was dying. In his last moments, Yoda helped him sit up so he could see the Undying Flame in the Sanctuary Mount brazier.[1]
After Erwen's death, the medical droid that Lyal had finally been able to purchase carried Erwen's body out of the flat. Lyal planned to hold a memorial service at the Paths of Harmony once he healed from his injuries. Later, Yoda introduced Lyal to the journalist and technical engineer Morna, who gave her the Lunns' holograms. Morna planned to use the holos, which had historical imagery never seen before, in a holofeed program that would help the people of Kwenn tell their stories.[1]
