This article is about the feature of the Death Star battle stations. You may be looking for the equatorial trench on the world of Knores.

The Equatorial trench was the wide trench than ran around the equator of the Galactic Empire's first and second Death Stars, separating their northern and southern hemispheres.[1][2] It contained the battle stations' ion drive arrays and docking bays, and the other trenches ran parallel to it.[3]

Legacy

The planet Ilum under the rule of the Empire,[4] and later the First Order,[5] also had a similarly surrounding equatorial trench, yet one of a larger size.[6]
