The Elia-An were a sentient species native to the planet Oanne. They had a symbiotic gestation with the planet's nativity trees; those who wished to be parents connected with a Grandfather tree in order to find their seed-heart and pair with a younger tree. A Ho'Din scientist who had studied the Elia-An described their relationship with the trees as seeds to be cross-pollinated, with communities drifting to new trees. The Elia-An possessed an extra set of arms with seven-fingered forehands that they used to hook into their nativity trees. During the High Republic Era, the Elia-An made a trade deal with the Galactic Republic in return for study into their symbiotic gestation in the hope of determining an arrangement to allow them to travel offworld.[1]
